Introduction
to Fly Fishing is a free, 2 hour class given monthly at the Mosquito Creek
Outdoors "Outback" Camping, Paddle Sports, and Fishing Center.
This class is designed so the novice, entry skill level angler will leave
with a good enough understanding of fly fishing to decide if it is an
activity they wish to pursue. For the accomplished fly fisher this class
is a great review of casting fundamentals and to learn about saltwater
fly fishing in Florida. All necessary reference material and equipment
is provided. The class size is limited so please check our event

Introduction
to Fly Fishing - Class Overview

| Section
1 - What is Fly Fishing (30 minutes) |
| A
brief overview and discussion of Fly Fishing in general, why
people fly fish, the advantages of fly fishing and the differences
of freshwater and saltwater fly fishing. |

| Section
2 - Fly Fishing Equipment (30 minutes) |
| The
different sizes and types of fly rods, reels, flies, lines and
leaders and how each component works together are explained
and demonstrated. Emphasis is placed on those sizes and styles
most commonly used for species of fish targeted in Central Florida
waters. |

| Section
3 - Essentials & Principles of Fly Casting (40
minutes) |
| The
basic essentials and principles of fly casting are explained,
illustrated and demonstrated. This section is also a valuable
refresher for the most accomplished fly anglers. |

|
| Section
4 - Practical Casting Exercise (20 minutes) |
| Effective
and proper casting techniques are demonstrated. The class is
divided into pairs and all given time to practice casting. |
