Sun Protective Clothing, Hats and Glasses can protect your skin
and eyes from the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. There
are a number of health problems that are directly linked to excessive
sun exposure. These health problems range from sunburn to
skin cancer. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, more
than 90% of all skin cancers are caused by sun exposure.
A person's risk for skin cancer doubles if he or she has had five
or more sunburns.
You can help protect yourself and your family by choosing clothing
and other products that have a high Ultraviolet Protection Factor
or (UPF). The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends at least
a UPF of 30, with a 50 UPF being the best.
